How to find a used iPhone wholesale supplier you can actually trust
A practical guide for resellers who are tired of getting burned
A reseller from Germany contacted us a while back. He had found a supplier through a well-known B2B platform, checked their profile, saw some positive feedback, and decided to place an order for 150 iPhones. The price was good. The communication was fast. He transferred the payment and waited for the shipping confirmation.
It never came. The messages stopped. The phone number went unanswered. The seller's profile disappeared from the platform within days. He had transferred over twelve thousand euros by bank transfer and had absolutely nothing to show for it. By the time he found us he was not just out of pocket. He had customers waiting on stock, a cash flow problem, and no appetite to trust anyone in this market again.
We got him back on his feet. But that money was gone.
We have heard versions of this story more times than we can count. And every time, the problem was not that the buyer did not do their research. It is that in the used device wholesale market, it is genuinely hard to know who to trust until something goes wrong.
This guide is written specifically for resellers. Not IT managers, not individuals buying a single phone. Resellers who need consistent stock, reliable grading, and a supplier they can build their business on. We have shipped tens of thousands of devices to buyers across the globe, and this is everything we wish someone had told them before their first bad experience.
Why supplier reliability matters more than price
Every reseller starts in the same place: comparing prices. It makes sense. Your margins depend on what you pay. But in this market, the cheapest price is almost never the best deal.
Here is why. When you buy 100 iPhones at a discount and 20 of them arrive in worse condition than described, you have three problems at once. You have customers to disappoint. You have a supplier dispute to fight. And you have capital tied up in stock you cannot sell at the price you planned. The few euros you saved per unit have just cost you significantly more in time, reputation, and cash flow.
The resellers who build sustainable businesses in this space are not the ones chasing the lowest price. They are the ones who found a supplier they trust and stuck with them.
What a trustworthy wholesale supplier actually looks like
There are four things worth looking at before you place a serious order with any supplier.
Independent certification. Any supplier can say their devices are tested. Independent certification means a third party has verified it. At Refreshed Apples, every device is certified through Phonecheck, which gives you a verifiable record for each unit, not just the seller's word. We are also accredited members of TheBrokerSite, Handelot, and GSM Exchange, which means our track record is visible and reviewable by the whole B2B community.
A grading system that is written down. Grade A means something different to every supplier who has not defined it on paper. Before you order, ask for a written grading guide. If they cannot produce one, that tells you something important. Our full grading system is published openly on our website. A+/A, AB, B, B/C and APPLEASIS each have a precise definition that you can hold us to.
MDM-free and iCloud-free, in writing. A device with an MDM profile or an active iCloud account cannot be activated by its new owner. This is one of the most common problems resellers run into with unreliable suppliers. Ask for written confirmation that every device ships MDM-free, iCloud-free, and with a Clean ESN. It should not be a difficult request for a reputable supplier to meet.
A warranty with real coverage. A seven-day return window is not a warranty. A warranty means that if a device develops a functional fault within a defined period, the supplier fixes it without a fight. Our standard is 30 days on every device, extendable to 2 years for buyers who need longer coverage for business deployment.

The five questions to ask any supplier before placing a bulk order
These are the questions that separate serious wholesalers from everyone else. A good supplier will answer all five without hesitation.
1. How are your devices tested and who certifies them? Listen for the name of an independent testing platform. If the answer is "our own team checks everything," ask for more detail.
2. Can you send me your written grading guide? If they do not have one, move on.
3. Are all devices MDM-free, iCloud-free, and carrier-unlocked? The answer should be an immediate yes with no caveats.
4. What is your warranty and what does it actually cover? Get the terms in writing before you order, not after something goes wrong.
5. How consistent is your stock on this model? One good batch does not make a reliable supplier. Ask whether they can give you advance notice of incoming inventory and whether they can accommodate repeat orders of the same model and grade.
Why resellers keep coming back to Refreshed Apples
We are not the only wholesaler in this market. We know that. But there are a few things about how we operate that buyers tell us make a real difference.
We have been active in this market since 2020. Over that time we have shipped tens of thousands of certified devices to resellers, IT distributors, and businesses worldwide. 81.13% of our buyers place a second order. That number is not something we manufactured for a marketing page. It is what happens when grading is consistent, communication is honest, and problems get sorted without a fight. Our 4.6 out of 5 Google rating tells the same story.
We publish everything openly. Our grading guide, our certifications and warranty terms. If a buyer ever wants to hold us to something we have said, it is all there in writing. That is not standard in this industry.
And when something goes wrong, which occasionally happens in any wholesale operation, we sort it. No disappearing acts, no blaming the courier, no terms and conditions used as a shield. Our returns portal is straightforward and our team responds fast.
